Road to success.
VOICE Area Federation started its functions in 2008 as an implementing partner for ChildFund Sri Lanka, and it has been intervening to assist vulnerable children in many districts through promoting their health and nutrition status and by supporting children to improve their educational attainments, which in turn helps to improve their confidence levels and help them engage in productive employment and social engagement in the future.
VOICE Area Federation has been working with government, non-government and community-based organizations and the communities in Puttalam, Anuradapura, Polonnaruwa, Mannar, and Mullaithivu districts also expanding its scope to Nuwara Eliya. VOICE has a legacy on implementing community-based rehabilitation projects in Puttalam District, in particular, Karuwalagasewewa, Anamaduwa Pallama and Mundel Divisional Secretariat Divisions. As a first phase VOICE implemented a ChildFund grant-funded project on ‘Disability Inclusion through Community Based Rehabilitation’ in Puttalam, Mannar and Mullaitivu. Currently, the project is implemented covering all the divisional secretariats in Mannar and Puttalam districts and 2 divisional secretariats in Nuwara Eliya district.
VOICE Area Federation had taken an initiative collaboratively with the National Secretariat for Person with Disabilities and Department of Social Services to establish an informative digital platform under the Socio-Economic Inclusion of Person with Disabilities in Sri Lanka through Community Based Inclusive Development project funded by Lipoid German through ChildFund Sri Lanka. One of the major objectives of this project is to enhance the information accessibility for the person with disabilities to obtain different services.
